Story
In September 2009 I was bridesmaid at Emma and Shez's brilliant wedding in Sri Lanka, and then spent a week volunteering at St Anthony's children's home.
The short time I spent in Sri Lanka was life changing.
Since December 2009 I have been a voluntary Director of the Kathleen Keegel Children's Fund which supports and manages St Anthony’s.
I work with Emma who is also a Director and a small team dedicated to helping the under-privileged kids who call St Anthony’s home.
The children at St Anthony's are happy, always full of smiles and welcomed me like an old friend when I volunteered.
They didn't choose to be born into hardship and showed me how important it is to make the most of what you have.
Anyone who knows me also knows I have never been a runner.
I started training last October to achieve a very personal goal of running the half marathon in memory of Shez.
But I really need your support to reach my goal. I'll do the hard part by running the half marathon and all you need to do is support me.

KKCF (Kathleen Keegel Children’s Fund)
The Kathleen Keegel Children's Fund (KKCF) is managing a children’s home, kindergarten and an advanced development centre for boys in Sri Lanka.
Our home provides a safe and loving environment for children who have come from backgrounds of abuse and neglect. We currently have 30 children living with us, ranging in age from 6 to 16 years old living. The children attend schools in the local area, have English lessons at the home every day, and take part in music, craft and sports on the weekend.
