Helping CREATE, One Step at a Time
Hi. My name is Leland Pasion. As an avid runner, one of my goals has always been to run a marathon. At the Sydney Running Festival in September, I will be at the starting line together with many others in the hopes of realising this dream.
Running a distance of 42.2 kilometres is a monumental task, one which is difficult or even impossible to do without being inspired. I have been lucky enough to have many people to look up to in my life, and I want to make them all proud by paying it forward.
As I take part in this marathon, I also aim to raise much needed funds for charity. I have chosen CREATE Foundation, a brilliant organisation working with young people in care, which is the industry I currently work in, and a cause I truly believe. I am honoured to be helping a great cause and would really appreciate your support in this endeavour. All of the donations given will go directly to charity.

CREATE Foundation represents the voices of all children and young people in foster care. CREATE advocates to ensure that their voices are heard by decision makers in government and the foster care sector. CREATE Connects children to each other, CREATE and their community, empowers them to build self-confidence, self-esteem and life skills and changes the care system, through advocacy to improve policies and services.

On the 18th September, in the early hours, whilst most are still snoozing, we're going to be sweating it out, across the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD and finishing at the Opera House steps... and that's just the 9km run! There's also the half and full marathon for those who take their running a little more seriously and if a leisurely stroll is more your thing, there's a family fun run for anyone of any level of fitness to get involved.
CREATE is delighted to have been selected as one of the official supporting charities for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival again this year.
